35-year Non-Prorated Paint Finish Warranty on
Standing Seam Metal Roofs
Drexel Metals warrants that the goods covered by this warranty will resist natural weathering of the paint finish to the extent that they will conform to the manufacturer’s performance standards for thirty-five (35) years following field installation, provided all conditions of this warranty are first met:1.TRINAR® will not peel, crack, check, or flake to an extent that is apparent on ordinary outdoor visual observation; and2. Vertical installations of TRINAR® will not change color more than 5 NBS (Hunter) units, and non-vertical installations will not change color more than 7 NBS (Hunter) units following field installation. Color measurements are to be made per ASTM D 2244 and only on clean surfaces after removing surface deposits and chalk per ASTM D 3964; and3. Vertical installations of TRINAR® will not chalk more than a number 8 rating, and non-vertical installations will not chalk more than a number 6 rating, when measured per ASTM D-4214, Method A.

Asphalt Roofing Fine Print on Algae Discoloration
This StainGuard® Limited Warranty lasts for 10 years on all StainGuard® labeled shingles. GAF-Elk warrants to you that blue-green algae (also known as cyanobacteria)will not cause a pronounced discoloration of your StainGuard® labeled shingles. During the first year, if your StainGuard® labeled shingles do exhibit a pronounced discoloration caused by blue-green algae, GAF-Elk’s contribution will be either the reasonable cost of commercially cleaning your shingles or replacing discolored shingles. During the remainder of the algae discoloration coverage period, GAF-Elk’s contribution to you will be adjusted to reflect the use you have received from your shingles, based on the number of months that have elapsed since your shingles were installed.
